So….why would you swap out your conventional deodorant? Well for many good reasons: almost all conventional, store-bought antiperspirants and deodorants contains  aluminum as a main ingredient. Not to mention propylene glycol and other chemical preserving agents. Heavy metals are toxic in that some may mimic estrogen in your body and wreak havoc upon your hormones and your endocrine system. The presence of aluminum so close to the lymph nodes has even been linked to breast cancer and to Alzheimer’s disease.

If body odor is a problem you struggle with and avoiding chemical antiperspirants is your goal, try this. It seriously works wonders, I’d never use anything else again!

An armpits dream deodorant:

What you’ll need:

·      ¼ cup aluminum free baking soda

·      ¼ cup of arrowroot powder

·      150 ml of vegetable glycerin

·      10-15 drops of essential oils of choice. I personally prefer citrus (lemon,

grapefruit or Bergamot), lavender and tea tree oil work well. You can add 3-5 drops of each

 

Method: Mix all ingredients together very well and store in a small glass

container. You may need to stir occasionally to create a uniform paste. When

ready to use, apply to underarms using a clean finger.
